It is just as important to take care of your skin during pregnancy as it is when you are not pregnant. It actually may be even more important now if you are pregnant.
There are many different skin issues that can arise during pregnancy. But it is different for every person. You may get one skin issue, a lot more or none.
I personally have dealt with dry/ itchy skin, minimal stretch marks and hormonal acne (not too bad thank God!) I also got some little spider veins, skin darkening and the linea nigra which is a dark line down the middle of the lower belly.
Since having my baby the linea nigra has faded away as well as the skin darkening.
And I figured out how to get rid of my acne which has plagued me my whole teenage and adult life.

The Unicorn Natural Face Skin Care Routine
The key here is not to wash your face too much. I know WHAT? But I’m serious I only wash my face once a day because too much washing and you can mess up your pH level and I notice my face produces more sebum which is an oil gland in our skin. I usually would get more acne from over washing.

I have this product. I have been using it after I take a shower in the evening. I put it on my belly, breasts and anywhere I feel like I may be getting stretch marks or have the potential to get them. It smells so good. It is oil so keep that in mind. When I put my pj’s on after I apply, the clothes do stick to me a little bit. However the oil doesn’t feel sticky on my body. I feel like it has been doing a good job moisturizing and minimizing any stretchmarks.

So as far as deodorants go, I have not recently been using one. I tried the more “natural” deodorants and I had been getting rashes from them.
I looked up deodorants that are low on the EWG scale but when I looked at the reviews of the products it seems most of them, had people that were getting rashes as well.
I did fine one deodorant so far where there are no complaints of rashes and there are only a few natural ingredients in them. I will list it here.
Natural Deodorant with Magnesium (Not listed on the EWG site)
The only 4 ingredients in this deodorant are almond oil, beeswax, magnesium oxide & therapeutic grade essential oils. I haven’t been having luck with deodorant so I am going to try this out. It comes in a few different scents.
My Secret To Clearing Up My Acne
The only reason I found this out was because of my pregnancy.
The big secret which isn’t really even a secret is I was missing certain vitamins. Now I don’t even know what I was missing as far as vitamins go.
My acne cleared up when I started taking a prenatal vitamin, but not just any prenatal vitamin The GNC Prenatal with DHA. They are horse sized pills but they have been amazing.
When I stopped taking them even one day pimples pop up all over. Now I have tried other prenatals and they don’t do the trick.
So what does this mean for you? If you are struggling with acne. You may be missing a needed nutrient. So I truly believe there is a supplement out there with what you need you just have to find it.
If you want to experiment and try the GNC Prenatal with DHA I would love to hear how it works for you! You may have a break through like me or you may have to keep searching for something else that works for you.
